Manuscripts

1- Original Articles

Must address research results relevant to the field of Nursing. Research must be quantitative and/or qualitative in nature and cannot be published more than three years ago from the date of data collection. The article must be limited to 5,000 words (excluding title, abstract, tables, figures, and references).

2- Review Articles

Orderly, critical, and reflective studies addressing a specific problem. The content must delve deeper into the subject of research. Articles of up to 5,000 words will be accepted, excluding title, abstract, tables, figures, and references (no limit on the number of references).

3- Reflection Articles

Current, in-depth theoretical considerations in the context of Nursing. There must be rigorous dialogue between authors to present their points of view. A maximum of 3,000 words is strictly required (excluding title, abstracts, and references).

4- Experience Report

Descriptive research that presents a reflection on an action experienced in the academic or professional field and that is of scientific interest. It must not be older than two years from the date of preparation. It must contain up to 3,000 words (excluding title, abstracts, and references).


Manuscript Submission Requirements:

1. The topic must be related to the field of Nursing or healthcare.

2. A Letter of Responsibility and Copyright Declaration must be submitted upon submission.

3. A copy of the approval issued by the Research Ethics Committee for manuscripts resulting from research involving humans and animals (National Health Council Resolution: 510/16).

4. Number of Authors: The maximum number of authors per article is 6; changes (removal, inclusion, or replacement) to the authorship of articles will not be permitted after submission.

5. The manuscript may be submitted for review in the following languages: Portuguese, Spanish, or English.

6. We do not accept manuscripts formatted in columns.

7. The Nurses Electronic Journal does not accept footnotes.

Formatting: Typed manuscript in Arial font size 12, with 1.5 cm line spacing, on A4 paper, with 2.5 cm margins throughout, justified text, and page numbers. Use of Word for Windows 97-2003 or higher.


1) Identification Sheet - SEPARATE FROM THE MANUSCRIPT

- Title in Portuguese, English, and Spanish (no more than fifteen words); use capital letters in all three languages.

- Authors' full names, including curricular qualifications, academic titles, and institutional affiliations.

- All authors' email addresses, Lattes CV link, and ORCID (required).

- Abstract containing 150 words in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, presented in single space. The abstract should be organized with OBJECTIVES, METHODS, RESULTS, CONCLUSION, and up to five words chosen from the terms indexed in the Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS/MeSH), available at: <www.bvsalud.org>.


2) Manuscript

PRESENTATION: Scientific papers must be presented in the order specified below, except for reflection and experience articles.

Introduction

Must include the research problem, justification, relevance, and objectives;

Materials and Methods

Must describe the type of study and its respective stages;

Results

Must contain the main relevant findings of the research;

Discussion

Interpretation of results should be based on current literature (opt for international articles).

Conclusion

Must address the research problem and main objective (not exceeding two paragraphs).

ILLUSTRATIONS: (Tables, charts, and figures) are limited to a maximum of five (5) per manuscript. Figures must be inserted into the text, include a title, source, and be in JPEG format, with a resolution of 300 dpi, and size 23 x 16 cm.

REFERENCES: References must follow the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (Vancouver Style). They are limited to thirty (50) and numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text.

3. A letter declaring copyright and conflict of interest must be submitted upon submission.

Submission Conditions

As part of the submission process, authors are required to verify their submission's compliance with all items listed below. Submissions that do not comply with the guidelines will be returned to the authors.

The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being considered for publication by another journal; otherwise, justification must be provided in "Comments to the Editor."

The submission file must be in Word for Windows 97-2003 or higher.

The text is 1.5 line spacing; except for abstracts in the languages (Portuguese, English, and Spanish), which are single-spaced; Arial font size 12 points; italics are used instead of underlining (except in URL addresses); figures and tables are inserted within the text, not at the end of the document as attachments.

The text follows the style standards and requirements described in the Guidelines for Authors on the About the Journal page. In case of submission to a peer-reviewed section (e.g., articles), the instructions available in Ensuring blind peer review were followed.

The names and addresses provided in this magazine will be used exclusively for the services provided by this publication and will not be made available for other purposes or to third parties.

A one-time fee of €320 is charged at the time of submission, covering submission, publishing, editing, and other services. Please note that payment does not guarantee acceptance.
